Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway
The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway is the UK’s only fully water powered railway. Built in 1888, it remains the world’s highest and the steepest fully water powered railway and one of three examples left in the world. Blackwell Arts and Crafts House
Perched overlooking lake Windermere, this Grade I listed building is a masterpiece of artistic design. Architect Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott designed Blackwell as a holiday home for Manchester brewer Sir Edward Holt, Lady Holt and their five children in 1901.
