Chatsworth House

Chatsworth House , Chatsworth Estate, Bakewell, DE45 1PP

Details

Unsuitable for:  Noise sensitivity

Can now book buggy ride and they can pick us up at the gate nearest the cafe. Phone in advance for this. The Café is self-service and can get very busy, not able to book a table. Plenty of room for a wheelchair. If guest want to go on both house and buggy tour, you need to buy a house and garden ticket then pay for buggy tour £4 each (cash only). You have to book the buggy tour beforehand and receive a token. Buggys can only take 5 people therefore probably need to book two buggy tours. Buggys do not run if it is raining, it can be quite cool on the buggys. The tour of the house can take a wee while to go round, some flooring is not good for people living with dementia, so be prepared to bring someone out. Some parts of the house are very dark. There is a lift but can only take a few people at a time. Staff are quite efficent with disabled access and using lift. Guest can find this trip quite tiring. There are no toilets in the house. They are outside before you enter the walkway into house.
