Built in a former quarry, this grass roofed heritage centre is home to a gallery, cafés, food hall and shops. Enjoy some local sourced food, browse Cumbrian crafts and enjoy the exhibition, Lake District Landscape and Language Lost and Found. See historic Lakeland scenes from Gwen Bertelsman from the 1940’s juxtaposed with photographs of the same scenes as they look today.
Book table in quiet area near toilet. Food good and there are a few shops to browse around.
